A Remarkable Day 3 at the NIES 2025! ⚡

Day 3 at Booth B4 was filled with high-level engagements and impactful discussions on MEMAN’s role in shaping Nigeria’s energy future. We were honored to host the Honorable Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Sen. Heineken Lokpobiri Ph.D., who stopped by to discuss industry growth, investment, and collaboration.

We also had the privilege of welcoming MEMAN Chairman, Mr. Huub Stokman, and MEMAN CEO, Mr. Clement Isong, both of whom reinforced MEMAN’s commitment to innovation, capacity building, and sustainability through initiatives like the MEMAN Competency Centre. This groundbreaking centre remains a focal point for enhancing skills and expertise in Nigeria’s evolving energy sector.

A Power-Packed Day 2 at the NIES 2025! ⚡

We kicked off with a high-impact Opening Ceremony, where industry leaders, including Hon. Ekperikpe Ekpo, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas); Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite MD, CFA, Minister of State for Finance; and HE Haitham Al Ghais, Secretary General of OPEC, shared key insights on shaping Africa’s energy future.

Food and Fuel: Debunking the Myths Around Ethanol Production in Nigeria 🇳🇬🌱⚡

Today, January 30, 2025, MEMAN, in collaboration with the U.S. Grains Council, convened key stakeholders—including the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Finance, the Nigeria Cassava Growers Association, International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), and other agricultural leaders—to tackle the ongoing debate on ethanol production and food security.

MEMAN proudly participated in the Petroleum Industry Stakeholders Forum (PISF), hosted by the Ministry of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil) under the leadership of Hon. Heineken Lokpobiri on January 16, 2025, at the PTDF Conference Hall, Abuja.

The MEMAN Lagos Operations Committee (formerly Apapa Operations Committee) held its first meeting of the year yesterday, January 15, 2025, at the MEMAN Secretariat to discuss its 2025 strategic objectives.

MEMAN attended the Nigerian Gas Association Silver Jubilee Exclusive Dinner & Awards on December 17, 2024. This milestone event celebrated 25 years of resilience, innovation, and excellence in advancing Nigeria’s gas industry. In attendance were Mr. Godwin Jarikre, Head, Supply, HSEQ and Technical, and Adelanke Dayo-Adepoju, our Gas and Renewable Energies Specialist.

The Nigerian Gas Association also unveiled their rebranded logo, symbolizing a fresh chapter in their commitment to driving progress and sustainability in Nigeria’s energy sector. 🌍

Today, December 05, 2024, MEMAN hosted an in-depth solar training session led by Mr. Anthony Onyebuenyi, Chief Technical Officer of Tarana Energy, with special sessions from Mr. Omotayo Hassan, General Manager | Renewable Explorer at TotalEnergies Renewables DG Nigeria Limited, and Mr. Oreofe Oluwadare, Regional Business Development Manager, Renewable Energy at Sterling Bank.

Today, November 21, 2024, MEMAN held a collaborative meeting with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and the new Lagos Sector Commander, CC Hamzat Ganiyu Kehinde, to discuss strengthening road safety and improving collaboration between both organisations.

MEMAN was honoured to contribute to discussions on balancing energy security and sustainability in Africa at the Energy Sustainability Conference 2024, hosted by the Energy Institute in collaboration with the MEMAN Competency Centre.

Today, November 12, 2024, we were thrilled to welcome the economic team from the World Bank and the IFC—International Finance Corporation—to the MEMAN Secretariat! This visit was an invaluable opportunity to share MEMAN’s initiatives in advancing Nigeria’s energy sector through transparent practices, sustainable solutions, and industry collaboration.

Nov 07, 2024, a team from MEMAN visited the Joint Users Hydrant Installation (JUHI) facility at Ikeja.

NLPGA rebrands as the Nigeria Liquefied and Compressed Gases Association (NLCGA), expanding its focus to include LNG, hydrogen, biogas, and CNG—marking an exciting new horizon for Nigeria’s gas industry. Attending the 14th NLCGA Conference and Exhibition was an honour, Mr. Godwin Jarikre, Head Supply, HSSEQ, and Technical at MEMAN, represented the MEMAN Chairman to deliver a goodwill message.

Nov 05, 2024. MEMAN marked the fourth anniversary of the NNPC Retail Ltd. Apapa tank farm fire with a safety drill at the NRL marshalling yard. Over a thousand participants, including community members, the PTD Union, and regulatory bodies, participated. Equipment from various clusters demonstrated mutual support, and MEMAN leaders commended the turnout. MEMAN Operations Manager Engr. Moses Okoh emphasized the quarterly drill strategy led by our CEO, reinforcing safety across clusters.

Day 2 of at the Gas Investment Forum 2024 was a tremendous success!

Lanke Dayo-Adepoju, standing in for CEO Mr. Clement Isong delivered a powerful keynote on “Expanding Nigeria’s Domestic Gas Market and Gas-based Industries: Strategies and Solutions”.

October 22, 2024, MEMAN held the inaugural meeting of its Retail Network Operations Committee, with Alhaji Abdullahi Umar of TotalEnergies Marketing Nigeria Plc emerging as the committee chairman.

The committee was established to provide strategic direction, oversight, and recommendations to enhance network operations across MEMAN.

Oct 03, 2024. MEMAN was proud to be represented by Adelanke Dayo-Adepoju, our Gas and Renewable Specialist, at the NAEC Annual Strategic International Conference. Standing in for our CEO, Mr Clement Isong.

The MEMAN Chemists Committee conducted a review of the 2024 draft standards of the Nigerian Industrial Standards (NIS) for Household Kerosene (HHK), Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG). The review session was held on Tuesday, Sep 24, 2024, at the MEMAN Secretariat.

Highlights from our practical training session titled “Basics of Solar PV Energy Systems” held last week, Sep 17, 2024. In attendance were solar installers, members of MEMAN (MRS Oil Nigeria Plc) and other solar stakeholders.

The E10 Technical Workshop, hosted by the MEMAN Competency Centre in partnership with the U.S. Grains Council, on Friday, Sep 06, 2024, at The Capital Club in Lagos and virtually, was a resounding success! Mrs. Rowena Torres-Ordonez, Global Ethanol Technical Consultant and Advisor at the U.S. Grains Council, facilitated the event, leading insightful discussions on fuel standards, ethanol blending systems, and the economic benefits of ethanol. We extend our gratitude to all our speakers and attendees for advancing the conversation on sustainable energy.

On Jul 23, 2024, the MEMAN Secretariat team had a productive meeting with Omowunmi Akingbohungbe, Executive Director of WIMBIZ (Women in Management, Business and Public Service). We’re excited about the potential collaborations and initiatives that can emerge from this engagement.

On Jun 07, 2024, Emeka Akabogu, PhD., Vice Chairman of OTL Africa Downstream Week visited the MEMAN Secretariat and was warmly received by the MEMAN team, led by the CEO, Clement Isong. He also stopped by the Competency Centre in the Secretariat.

On May 24, 2024, MEMAN, in collaboration with FRSC and NMDPRA, held an emergency meeting to address the alarming rise in truck accidents this year.

The MEMAN Secretariat led the HSSEQ and Logistics Committees on a team visit to the TotalEnergies Truck Drivers’ Training & Inspection Centre in Ibadan on May 16, 2024.

May 15, 2024. The MEMAN CEO, Clement Isong during a working visit to the FRSC Headquarters in Abuja met with the Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Dauda Ali Biu and the Deputy Corps Marshal, Training, Bisi Kazeem to continue collaborative efforts to stop tankers crashes on Nigerian roads.

May 15, 2024. Engr. Farouk Ahmed, the ACE of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) convened a meeting with downstream oil marketers to discuss strategies for maintaining an uninterrupted and efficient supply of PMS across the country.

May 09, 2024. MEMAN and the U.S. Grains Council visited the NMDPRA in Abuja to explore biofuel opportunities and strengthen sustainable energy partnerships in Nigeria.

Mar 07, 2024. MEMAN’s Quarterly Exercise this morning brought together key stakeholders, including NMDPRA, NOSDRA, Nigerian Navy, NPA fire team, and cluster member companies. The impressive turnout of about 2,000 people at the Muster Point reflects a commitment to enhancing safety awareness and preparedness for emergencies within the hub.

Today Mar 01, 2024, is the final day of the Nigeria International Energy Summit 2024. It has been enjoyable discussing MEMAN’s mission, vision, values, and our ideas for the retail outlet of the future.

Farouk Ahmed and the Program Director of the Presidential CNG Initiative (PCNGi), Engr. Michael Oluwagbemi were visited by MEMAN’s Gas and Renewable Energies Specialist, Lanke Dayo-Adepoju and Head of Economic Intelligence Research and Regulation, Ogechi Nkwoji CPA MBA PMP CIArb.
