Membership at MEMAN is open to any duly registered company under the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria that meets the minimum entry criteria and successfully emerges from the membership verification exercise conducted by MEMAN.
There are two categories of membership:
- Full Members
- Associate Members
Membership Admission Process
Application Form: The application form is obtained, filled, and returned to the MEMAN secretariat along with the stipulated non-refundable application fee and all requested certified true copies of corporate and constitutional documents.
Sponsorship: Applicants must be sponsored by at least one member of MEMAN, which has been a financial member for at least three years prior to the application. A sponsorship form must be filled out and submitted with the application form.
Screening and Due Diligence: MEMAN screens the applicant’s documents and carries out a due diligence exercise. If considered eligible, the Chief Executive Officer of the applicant is invited for an interview with the Executive Committee of MEMAN.
Admission Offer: Applicants that emerge successful following the Executive Committee interview are offered admission as either associate or full members, contingent upon paying the prescribed fees and meeting the conditional admission criteria set out in their letter of conditional admission offer.
Conditional Membership: An applicant who accepts the conditional offer and meets the prescribed criteria is admitted to MEMAN as a conditional member for a probationary period of twelve calendar months. The MEMAN Executive Committee reserves the right to extend or reduce this probationary period.
Compliance: During this probationary period, the conditional member must comply with the laws, regulations, best practices, and standards of ethical and professional behaviour set out in the MEMAN Membership Charter and Constitution. Conditional members must also address and eliminate any deficiencies in their membership criteria.
Final Decision: After the probationary period, the MEMAN Executive Committee decides whether to remove the conditional membership status. The outcome is communicated to the conditional member in writing. If a company still maintains conditional membership status, it may receive an extension or face termination.
