This Independence Day, we celebrate Nigeria not only as a nation, but as a rich tapestry of cultures, traditions, languages, festivals, music, food, art and communities that continue to shape our national identity.
From the vibrant Durbar celebrations of the North to the colourful festivals of the South, from age-old traditions passed down through generations to contemporary celebrations that bring Nigerians together, our cultural heritage reflects the depth and diversity of who we are.
Developed by the MEMAN Industry Competency Centre, Nigeria: A Celebration of Culture takes us on a journey across the country, highlighting some of the festivals and cultural expressions that make Nigeria unique. It is an invitation to learn about our heritage, discover the stories behind our traditions and appreciate the people and communities who keep them alive.
As we mark 66 years of independence, we celebrate the diversity that connects us, the heritage that defines us and the people who continue to build the Nigeria we call home.
Happy Independence Day, Nigeria!
